Working group members suggest future directions of research collaboration among BRICS countries

At the fourth BRICS Working Group meeting on Biotechnology and Biomedicine held recently, the members of the working group have suggested future directions of research collaboration among BRICS countries. Ministry of Science & Technology has said that these include areas such as antimicrobial resistance, artificial Intelligence and digital health medicine, non-communicable diseases and neurological disorders.

The ministry said that agro-biotechnology, food and nutrition, cancer, long Post-Covid challenges and complications including molecular pathogenesis of COVID-19 virus have also been suggested. It said that more than 60 participants, including researchers, academicians, and government officials from all five BRICS countries that is Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa participated in the meeting.
