Work at community level to prevent child abuse, discrimination: Inder Jeet to PRIs

Reviews child protection mechanism in Poonch district

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the child protection mechanism in the district here at a meeting held in the conference hall of DC Complex.

During the meeting, Organizer of National Development Youth Club Sabzaar Ahmed highlighted the achievements in the field of child protection. The working of National Development Youth Club was appreciated by the administration.

All the stakeholders were instructed to strengthen child protection mechanism as the Deputy commissioner advised all officials not to wait, make a strong move to evolve a dependable mechanism to protect vulnerable children.

All stakeholders assured to work in a coordinated  manner  to strengthen the child protection mechanism in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the PRIs to work at community level to prevent child abuse and discrimination with children. He stressed on the need to work to eliminate child labour and child marriage in the district.

Further, the officials from health, Social Welfare and Education Departments briefed about various schemes in vogue for extending  support to the children.

The meeting was attended by Programme Officer, ICDS, Khalid Wafa; Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; Dysp Head Quarter, Nawaz Ahmed;  President NDYC, Nussart Begum; SO, Ghulam Haassan; Refer Coordinator, Mohd.Saleem; Accountant, Mohd. Yaseen, PRIs members besides all concerned officers/officials were present.
