KARGIL: Mission Shakti organised a Bike ride for a drug-free India, from Jammu to Kargil, following the path that led our soldiers to victory in Kargil in 1999. In the same way, they riders aim to achieve victory by eradicating drugs from society.
One significant event organized by Mission Shakti is the “Ride for Drug-Free India,” undertaken on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, 26th July, to show solidarity with our brave soldiers defending our borders. The symbolic choice of this date reflects the determination of the mission to wage a war against drug abuse with the same intensity and commitment as our soldiers defend the nation.
Mission Shakti is an inspiring initiative driven by the youth, with a primary focus on empowering women through increased awareness and practical support. At its core, the mission aims to facilitate women’s financial independence by working diligently at the grassroots level.
To achieve this goal, Mission Shakti has conducted free vocational training programs and self-defense training sessions, which have played a pivotal role in empowering women associated with the initiative, enabling them to become agents of change in their communities.
Beyond their efforts in women’s empowerment, Mission Shakti also addresses the growing concern of drug abuse, which not only affects the lives of individuals involved but also impacts their families, including women. To raise awareness about this pressing issue and other social matters, the organization organizes bike rides, which serve as a platform to engage the public and spread awareness.
During this inspiring bike ride, eight courageous female riders from Mission Shakti embarked on a challenging 600 km journey from Jammu to Srinagar, culminating at the Kargil War Memorial. The purpose of this ride is to drive home the message of making India drug-free and to inspire individuals to stand united in this battle against drugs.
Apart from these endeavors, Mission Shakti, under the leadership of Preety Choudhary, runs an aspirational program that focuses on empowering women physically and mentally. This program provides free coaching for SI (Sub-Inspector) Aspirants and Agniveer Aspirants, nurturing a cadre of strong and motivated women dedicated to serving the nation.
Anyone interested in becoming part of this transformative movement, aspiring young women can reach out to Mission Shakti through their handles on Twitter and Instagram. The mission welcomes anyone willing to contribute to the cause of empowering women and creating a drug-free society.
