Woman reported died due to drowning, killed by husband in Kashmir


Srinagar, Jul 23: A woman who was reported to have died due to drowning in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal last week has infact been killed by her husband who has been arrested, a senior police officer said.

He said a woman identified that a woman Rubeena Bano had drowned in river Sindh last week.

However, police got suspicious and conducted an investigation during which it surfaced that her husband Abdul Majid Khan had infact killed her. Later her body was dumped in a shop for four days before being thrown into waterbody.

He said the Khan has been arrested and a case registered. Further investigation has been taken up, he added.
