Jammu: Yet again, in view of the cold wave, the School Education Department Monday modified the earlier order and now have extended winter vacation for schools in summer zones of Jammu division from till January 15 for all classes.
Earlier in the day, the Department has ordered the extension of Winter Vacations till Jan 15 upto class 5 only.
According to an order issued by the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSE-J), winter vacation of all government and private schools has been extended till January 15, 2023 for all classes.
In view of prevailing inclement weather conditions in Jammu division, the winter vacation of all government and recognized private schools functioning in the region shall observe it upto January 15, it read.
The order further read that the staff and students involved in preparations of Republic Day celebrations shall continue the rehearsal as scheduled.
Earlier orders: the department had stated that the schools in Jammu division shall observe 10 days of winter vacation from December 26 to January 4, and further had extended winter vacation till February 7 amid cold wave in the region for all classes.
