We retaliated effectively: BSF officials
JAMMU: In violation of the new Ceasefire pact, massive shelling and firing was witnessed along the International Border in Jammu Kashmir’s Samba district on Monday, officials said.
Border Security Force officials told that around 6.00 am, Pakistan Rangers targeted the BSF patrolling party on the International Border in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district. BSF officials said they also retaliated effectively.
Earlier, on February 24 this year, in an unexpected move, India and Pakistan issued a joint statement agreeing to strictly observe ceasefire regulations afresh.
The re-commitment to the 2003 ceasefire came at a time when tensions were slowly ebbing at the LAC where India and China had been involved in a stand-off for almost nine months—(KNO)
