NEW DELHI: Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad on Monday became the first batter in limited-overs cricket to score seven sixes and 43 runs in a single over during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, B Ground in Ahmedabad.
Gaikwad smashed seven sixes in an over during the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final match against Uttar Pradesh. During the match, Gaikwad scored 220 runs in 159 balls which included 10 boundaries and 15 sixes.
It was the second quarter-final match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is being played between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
