Video | Omar leads protest against highway ban

National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah on Wednesday led a protest march against the ban on civil traffic movement on highway. The protest march was held at Pantha Chowk on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.

The government has banned movement of civil traffic on the highway from Baramulla to Udhampur on two days a week (Sunday and Wednesday) till 31 May.

However, medical emergency cases, schools, employees, tourists and lawyers have been exempted from the ban and they are allowed after proper checking at intersections.

He also taunted the outgoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that Pakistan has endorsed the outgoing PM for a second term.

Earlier, the Pakistan premier Imran Khan had said that that there are high chances about resolving all the disputes with the neighbouring country (India) if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) again comes to power in India.

PM Khan has said that if Congress wins the next general elections in India, they (Congress) will be cowed down by the rightwing BJP as far as settling the issues between Pakistan and India is concerned.
