Meraj-ul-Alam was celebrated in Kashmir with religious fervour on Friday, with thousands of devotees thronging shrines and Masjids across the Valley for special prayers.

The biggest congregation was held at Kalashpora Srinagar here where thousands of devotees—men, women and children—converged to have a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) after five-time prayers.

Night-long prayers were held at Aasar-e-Sharief Lal Bazar, Jenab Saheb Soura, Kalashpora, Syed Sahib Sonawar, Shopian, Makhama Beerwah and other places.
