Sikhs celebrated the festival of Baisakhi with religious fervor and gaiety in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. People in large numbers thronged historic Shadimarg Pulwama Gurduwara, to mark the occasion of the ‘day of creation of Khalsa’.

In 2017 year, the Baisakhi was celebrated in a simple way, in view of the civilian killings and security situation.

People held prayers, kirtans and participated in the Guru Granth Sahib Paath. The Gurudwara Prabandhan Committees also served langar to the devotees.

Dr Gurmeet Singh, Member Gurudwara Prabandhan Committee Shadimarg, thanked all the authorities for facilitating the event, which calls for religious harmony and peace.
