he ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday issued a three-line whip to its party Members of Parliament in Rajya Sabha as well as the Lok Sabha to be present in the House tomorrow (August 10).
The Monsoon Session, which began on a stormy note on July 19 amidst uproar from Opposition parties who did not allow Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce newly-inducted Union ministers to the Parliament, has reached its final week. The session will last till August 13.
“All BJP members in Rajya Sabha are hereby informed that some very important business will be taken up for discussion and passing in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 11. All members of BJP in Rajya Sabha are therefore requested to be positively present in the House throughout all both days and support the Government,” the BJP said in a notice.
While the BJP has asked the Rajya Sabha MPs to be present in the House on August 10 and August 11, the three-line whip issued to its Lok Sabha MPs asking them to be present in the House tomorrow.
Both Houses adjourned till 11 am on Tuesday
Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 11 am on Tuesday amid continuous ruckus by Opposition MPs over the Pegasus snooping row today.
Earlier today, three crucial bills – the Limited Liability Partnership (Amendment) Bill, 2021, the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021, and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2021 were passed in Lok Sabha amid ruckus by the Opposition MPs.
