Jammu, Nov 23: Authorities launched a major rescue operation in Mehar area near Ramban district headquarter after a vehicle reportedly plunged into river Chenab on Monday evening.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a vehicle, which is yet to be identified, plying on Jammu-Srinagar national highway reportedly fell into river Chenab near Mehar area of Ramban district.
“Soon after the accident took place, a major rescue operation was launched in the area while there were no traces of the vehicle as of now,” the officials said.
“We have no information about nature of vehicle that plunged into river and the number of passengers travelling in it,” they added
