Valley shuts against Shopian killings

Following the call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), a complete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir valley today while the restrictions were imposed in Srinagar areas as precautionary measure.

All shops, petrol pumps and other business establishments are closed while the vehicular movement is also off the roads. Government offices are also closed due to a public holiday.

Notably, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for complete shutdown today against the civilian killings in Shopian.
Meanwhile, forces were deployed in large number in restriction bound areas to thwart any possible protest against Shopian killings.
