Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to visit Aligarh Muslim University

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Aligarh Muslim University today. The COVID infection is on the rise in the campus and many faculty members and employees have lost their lives recently. The Chief Minister spoke with the vice chancellor of the university two days ago regarding the spread of Corona infection in the Campus and adjoining areas. He assured to support the AMU administration in the Vaccination drive.

Eighteen serving faculty members of the university have   succumbed to the disease. Fifteen of them were either COVID or suspected COVID patients and three had other ailments.The Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Prof Tariq Mansoor has requested the employees and their families to get vaccinated against COVID-19 virus.

The University has also approached ICMR to investigate samples sent from  Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College,  JNMC lab for any COVID variants that might be causing severe  disease.
