Srinagar, Feb 10: The ‘intruder’ who was killed overnight by security forces along Line of Control has been identified as elderly from the Kamalkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Wednesday.

A senior police officer told local news agency that the man, around 56 years of age, was killed along the LoC near Dulanja Uri. He said that as per preliminary reports, the slain has been identified as Sarfraz Mir Son of Sain Mir of Kundibarjala Kamalkote.

Born in 1960s, the man had crossed the LoC in early 1990 and then returned in 1992, the officer said. He had then surrendered in 1995 and went back to Pak in 2005. Also, an ID card issued by authorities in Muzaffarabad along with a weapon has been recovered, he said. Further details are awaited, the officer added.
