In Uttar Pradesh, two persons were killed when a five-storey under-construction building collapsed in Dasna area of Ghaziabad district on Sunday.
Local MP and Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh reached the spot last night and took stock of the rescue operation. More from our correspondent:
“Four teams of National Disaster Relief Force NDRD are engaged in rescue and relief operation round the clock.
Nine persons were saved by civilians and NDRF rescuers. Named FIR has been lodged against the builder, owner of the land and a broaker and some unknown persons by Ghaziabad Development Authority officials.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the Meerut Commissioner to probe into the incident.
He has also announced financial assistance of two lakh rupees to next kin of each deceased and fifty thousand to injured.
It is second incident of building collapse in the NCR region of the state. Recently two multi storied buildings were collapsed in Greater Noida claiming 9 lives.
