Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone for Nagpur Auto & Engineering Cluster Pvt Ltd (NAEC) in Hingna Industrial Area of Nagpur. The cluster approved under Cluster Development Plan of MSME comprises Micro Small Enterprises in Auto & Engineering Sector.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Gadkari said, vehicles operated on electric, CNG and LNG are the future of automobiles and it will reduce the burden of huge oil imports. He hoped that this cluster would play a pivotal role in making Nagpur an automobile hub. Mr. Gadkari said, since electric vehicles are changing the economics of logistic costs, spare parts for such vehicles should be manufactured in India only. The Minister appealed to all industries to take initiative in making India truly Atma Nirbhar by reducing imports and increasing exports.
Dr. P.M. Parlewar, Director of MSME- Development Institute Nagpur informed that, under this cluster development programme, a special purpose vehicle of 25 companies has been formed in Nagpur Auto & Engineering Cluster. This facility is expected to increase employment generation and export in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
