Jammu: Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Prashant Goyal on Said that under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), 21,640 units were established in the UT of J&K generating employment for 1.73 lakh persons in 2021-22.
Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Prashant Goyal made these comments while chairing KVIC’s UT level Monitoring Committee meet on PMEGP implementation in J&K.
“21,640 units established in 2021-22 generated employment for 1.73 lakh persons, highest in comparison to other states & UTs,” Department of Information & PR, J&K tweeted on Saturday.

Pertinent to mention here that PMEGP scheme is implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) functioning as the nodal agency at the national level.
