Two eve-teasers arrested for stalking, harassing girl in Srinagar; Police efforts widely appreciated

SRINAGAR: Two eve-teasers were arrested by Srinagar Police for allegedly stalking and harassing a girl in the Dal Gate area.

The action comes after a video had gone viral on social media, wherein, a girl was seen stalking and harrasing. The girl had uploaded a video on Twitter and sought help from Srinagar Police.

Without wasting any time, Srinagar Police initiated action and arrested two eve-teasers.

Srinagar Police in a tweet informed, “2 eve teasers 1) Saqib Mehraj Sheikh S/o Mehraj ud Din & 2) Faizan Yousuf Sheikh S/o Mohd Yousuf both of Kanidiver Hawal arrested for stalking & harassing a girl yesterday in Dal gate, by a team led by DO Nehru Park PSI Syed Faisal. Scooty seized too. FIR regd in RM Bagh PS”.

Soon after the news broke that two-eve teasers have been arrested. The efforts Srinagar Police were widely appreciated. “One of the best steps taken! Eve teasing is on the rise and these steps being taken should regularly be enforced! Kudos to Srinagar Police, wrote one user on Twitter.
