Two people died after a boat capsized in Nigeen Lake in Srinagar on Tuesday afternoon.
A government official said that there were five passengers in the boat; out of which three were rescued however two of them tragically drowned.
He said the bodies have been retrieved after hectic efforts.
The deceased have been identified as Sajad Ahmed Ghat (24) son of Muhammad Yousuf of Hafizbagh Mallabagh and Umar Ahmad (27) son of Muhammad Sultan Lolepuri of Housing colony Illahibagh.
The incident took place after a strong windstorm hit the Srinagar city on Tuesday afternoon.
