Tripura is reaping the benefits of Mission Indradhanush, one of the flagship programmes of the central government. The programme aims to vaccinate each and every child under two years of age and all those pregnant women who have been left uncovered under the routine immunisation programme. The drive aims to ensure full immunisation to more than 90 per cent of the country by December this year.
AIR Agartala correspondent reports that Shanta Bhoumik from Agartala is a mother of 1.5 years old son. Talking to AIR she said this scheme seems very helpful for the poor people as the children and mother are vaccinated at free of cost. She also lauded the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said this scheme will be helpful to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister to make ‘Swastha Bharat’.
While the mother of one year old daughter, Mrunali Saha appreciated the efforts of central government and said the central government has tried to publicize this scheme thorough various mediums and as a result the awareness has been created to a wider extent and people are being benefited.
While Tripura NHM Mission Director, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav apprised about the latest achievements under this scheme.
Tripura Government is also taking help of NCC, NSS and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan to create awareness among the people living in remote areas of the state over necessity of vaccination programs under Mission Indradhanush.
