Train Services Suspended in Srinagar.

Train service was suspended for security reasons on Friday in the Kashmir valley, where separatist have called for a general strike in protest against the detention of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik under Public Safety Act (PSA).
JKLF chairman Malik, who was arrested on February 22 from his Maisuma house has been shifted to Kotbalwal jail, Jammu, after he was booked under PSA on Thursday.
Train service has been suspended following an advisory received on Thursday night from police, official sources told UNI, therefore no train will chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region.
Similarly, trains will not chug on Srinagar-Badgam to Baramulla in north Kashmir, they said.
Train service has become very popular as it is being considered cheap, fast and safe against other mode of transport available in the valley where majority roads are in a very bad condition resulting in frequent traffic jams.
However, railway authorities are acting on the advice from local administration, particularly police who are taking decision keeping in view the safety and security of passengers and railway property.In the past railway suffered damages due to demonstration during strikes in the valley.
