Tourists rejoice as Kashmir’s Gulmarg receives fresh snowfall

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir’s best tourist destination, Gulmarg received fresh snowfall on Sunday afternoon.

The already abuzz winter tourism spot in north Kashmir’s Baramulla witnessed heavy snowfall cheering up the visitors.

The Tourists could be seen rejoicing in snow bound meadows of Gulmarg.

Gulmarg is one of the world’s famous winter tourist destinations in Kashmir. 

Every year, lakhs of domestic and foreign tourists visit Gulmarg to explore and enjoy vocations, besides thousands of sportspersons visit for winter sports activities.

Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 3.4°C against minus 2.6°C on the previous night, the official said. It was 2.4°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district which recorded its coldest night on January 2 when minimum temperature plummeted to minus 10.0°C, the official said.

A Meteorological Department had earlier predicted snowfall in next 48 hours in most places of Kashmir.
