Teachers assisting Govt in tackling Covid pandemic relieved

Srinagar, Mar 10: Disaster Management authorities of Srinagar district on Wednesday ordered relieving of all teachers of School Education Department assisting the government in tackling COVID-19 crisis.

In this regard, an order was issued by the Disaster Development Management Authority (DDMA) Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, a copy of which lies with the news agency.

Chaudhary in the order said, “Under Disaster Management Act, 2005 Teachers of School Education Department were deployed for assisting in COVID 19 Mitigation efforts in District Srinagar.”

“Schools operating in district Srinagar have partially resumed their regular class work and shall be fully functional in coming days and keeping in view the requirement of teaching staff in the schools, it is hereby ordered that all the teachers of school Education Department currently discharging their duties for COVID-19 mitigation,” reads the order.

Chaudhary also said that the orders of the DDMA Srinagar for such teachers shall be deemed to be relieved with immediate effect with the directions to report back at their original places of posting.
