Strong tremors felt in North India as 6.3 quake hits Nepal

JAMMU: Strong tremors were felt across New Delhi and some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, as an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred in Nepal.

National Center for Seismology said that an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 on Richter scale occurred in Manipur, Nepal in wee hours of Wednesday, November 9.

“The earthquake occurred at around 1.57 am on Nov 9. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground,” it said.

The tremors were felt in parts of the Delhi-NCR region as well as some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
