POONCH: The Poonch administration has banned the sale, use and storage of firecrackers in the district.
An order in this regard has been issued by the Poonch administration.
Whereas, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Poonch vide No. CS/SA-2/2023/4100 Dated 11-05-2023 has reported that marriage season Is underway and people oftenly resort to bursting of firecrackers during the marriage ceremonies particularly during night hours.
Whereas, the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Poonch further reported that the use of fire-crackers by the general public particularly during these even., is creating a definite confusion among the SFs/Army/Police, which may lead to inaction many times to respond a terror attack particularly during the present security scenario.
Whereas, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Poonch has accordingly recommended for imposing ban on sale of fire-crackers and bewaring the general public through both print and electronic media as well as through drum beating at public places not to use fire-crackers during marriage ceremony in view of security scenario.
Whereas, during the present security scenario in the District, there is every apprehension that use of fire crackers by general public may create confusion leading to obstacle in the way of quick response by security forces to any possible terror attack/firing Incident.
Now, therefore, in view of the above and in exercise of powers vested in me under section 144 Cr. P.C, I Yasin M. Choudhary, LAS, District Magistrate, Poonch hereby impose complete ban on storage, sale and use of fire crackers with-in the territorial jurisdiction of District Poonch, till further orders.
The SDMs/Tehsildars/CE0 Poonch Municipal Council/E0 Surankote Municipal Committee/District Information Officer, Poonch through print and electronic Media as well as drum beating and by all other means of communications, shall make aware the public not to use the fire crackers during marriage ceremonies/other functions/events in view of ban imposed on use of fire crackers for security concern. This order shall remain in force with immediate effect.
The order is issued exparte and no prior notice is served in vie the emergency involved in the matter. Any violation of this order shall invite action under Indian Penal
