SRINAGAR: The government of Jammu and Kashmir has accorded to sanction of constitution of steering committee for improving financial viability of Fair Price Shops in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Union territory Level Steering Committee, with following composition, to review and monitor initiatives for delivering additional citizen-centric services aimed at improving financial viability of Fair Price Shops, reads the order.
The committee members include Administrative Secretary, Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (Chairman & Convenor), Representative of Administrative Secretary, Finance Department (not below the rank of Additional Secretary) Member, Representative of the CSC-e Governance Services India Ltd. (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, GoI) in J&K (Member), UT Level Coordinator, Oil Industry, J&K Member, Representative of India Post Payment Bank, Department of Posts, in J&K Member and Any other member/members as may be co-opted from private sector/public sector/government bodies Co-opted member(s)
Terms of Reference of committee includes assess, review, and monitor the progress and issues in the uptake of various citizen-centric services at the FPSs in the Union territory, make recommendations to the UT and districts on planning for effective implementation of the FPS transformation initiative. Knowledge sharing of best practices on FPS transformation to enable cross learning with other State/UTs. Coordinate with other Departments, or organizations dealing with activities relating to the transformation of FPSs.
