Statehood identity of J&K people, no compromise on it: Altaf Bukhari

Says PRC already exists in UT in shape of domicile law, terms PAGD a group of chameleons

SRINAGAR:Apni Party president and former minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari Friday said that there is no compromise on the Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, terming it as the identity of the people.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating the party office in Srinagar, Bukhari said that the [arty wants Statehood to be restored at earliest as it is the identity of the people and there is no compromise on it. “But at the same time, elections should also be conducted at earliest. It should not be sloganeering only,” he said.

“Though we are a new party, we have already succeeded on our two core agendas, including ensuring reservation of jobs and land rights for the J&K people,” he said, hoping that his party will also succeed on its third agenda, which is the trust of people.

“We have emerged on truth and we don’t change colors like chameleons like People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD),” he said, adding that “I believe people have identified the chameleons. The people now are being befooled that we are ready for elections and at the same time will fight for the restoration of Article 370.”

“For Apni Party, to mitigate the sufferings of people is important. We want to put an end to the sufferings of people,” he said.

However, he refused to speak about Taliban taking over in Afghanistan, saying that it is an international issue and his party’s focus is Jammu and Kashmir. About PRC, Bukhari said that the law already exists in the shape of domicile law. “Somewhere it is being called PRC and somewhere domicile law,” he said—(KNO)2
