Srinagar encounter: Top LeT commander active since 5 years Khalid Bhai killed says IGP Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A top commander Saifullah Alais Abu Khalid of LeT outfit was killed in a brief exchange of firing in the Dhara Harwan area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district in wee hours on Sunday.

Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir  Vijay Kumar told that the wanted commander of LeT was killed in a Brief gunfight in the Harwan area. Khalid resident of Karachi, Pakistan was active since 2016 and was active in the Harwan- Dhara belt, the top cop added.

Earlier, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Harwan. As the joint team of forces intensified searches, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, leading to a brief encounter.  (GNS)
