In Uttar Pradesh, a large number of farmers have been benefitted by the Soil Health Card scheme which was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015.
The scheme is aimed at making the farmers aware of usage of appropriate quantity of fertilizers on their soil.
AIR Lucknow correspondent reports, “Soil Health Card scheme was launched in Uttar Pradesh through agricultural department during Rabi season in 2015-16.
Lakhs of farmers have associated with the scheme and got their soil tested. Shatrughan Pandey, a resident of Chandpur Village in Pilibheet district told AIR that after getting the soil of his farm land tested, he has been utilizing the Soil Health Card regularly and has achieved success in getting higher growth.
Over 2.5 Crore farmers in Uttar Pradesh have got their soil tested and they have been provided with Soil Health Cards.
Now, these farmers are not utilizing fertilizers in abundance and the growth of their farm land has increased substantially
