SMVDU’s ‘NO’ to Discrimination against Women

JAMMU: In a unique initiative, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra today celebrated ‘Discrimination against Women’ Pakhwada by forming a human chain.

The human chain formation event was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit and Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of the SMVDU, with an aim to make the students aware of discrimination against women at workplace.

The event started with the briefing on the topic by NSS Programme Coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar. The participants formed a human chain in the shape of “NO” to give a message to stop such discriminations against women and say NO to such instances in every organization.

NSS volunteers, Ayush Arya and Muneeb also shared their views on the occasion.

The event was successfully conducted by the NSS volunteers. Dr. Sharada M. Potukuchi, Presiding Officer, Internal Complaint Committee appreciated the efforts of the volunteers.
