SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Monday witnessed 06 deaths due to Covid-19 while 274 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 3,774.
With 06 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,343 and 275 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 317,250
Of the exact number of 317, 250 cases, 197,041 are from Kashmir division and 120,209 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 274 new cases, 161 belong to Kashmir division while as 113 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 197,041 including 120,209 recoveries and 2,224 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 120,209 including 116,425 recoveries and 2,119 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,774 including 2,109 from Kashmir division and 1,665 from Jammu division.
With 461 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 309,133 which is 97.44 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 53 from Srinagar, 10 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 19 from Pulwama, 16 from Kupwara, 19 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 12 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 113 from Jammu division include 04 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 08 from Rajouri, 06 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 10 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 72 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Monday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the total cases of Mucormycosis stands at 30.
Out of 06 deaths reported today, 01 died in CHC Mendhar, 01 in GMC Doda, 01 in DH Poonch, 01 in Medicity SSH Jalandhar & 01 in GMC Baramulla & 01 in GMC Anantnag. (KNO)
