Situation under control and peaceful in North Kashmir: Lt Gen Pandey

KUPWARA: Lt General GOC Chinar DP Pandey Crops on Monday said that situation in north Kashmir is peaceful and in the coming months it will be improved more.

GOC, after interacted with 150 national cadet corps (NCC) at an ongoing seven day NCC annual training camp in Machil, said that in the coming months the peaceful situation will be more improved in the northern region of Kashmir. He said that everything is fine today if compared with the past 4-5 years. He said the situation is very much under control and there is nothing to worry about it in north Kashmir.

While answering the question regarding the present status of militants in north Kashmir, the top army officer said that two militants groups came to this side and we succeed to eliminate the one group and efforts are on for the second one. The officer said that there was a decrease in the number of militants in Kashmir and all credit goes to the people who are peace lovers and are against violence. The officer said that people here are fed up with this violence, band calls now.

While appealing to youth, Lt Gen DP Pandey said that white-collar militants are misleading them for their businesses, he said youth should focus on Kashmiri culture, art as this culture is unique in the whole world. (AGENCIES)
