Show notice to Jr Assistant, Teachers in Kashmir for criticizing govt. on social media
SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has issued a showcase notice to two employees for posting objectionable activities on social media.
The notice has been issued to a Junior Assistant of GHS Ring Payeen Machil, District Kupwara and Teacher GMS Dupatyar Anantnag.
“Whereas, it has been brought into the notice of this Directorate by the authorities that you are involved in objectionable activities on social media which reflects that your behaviour and conduct is sheer violation of Jammu & Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules of 1971 as envisaged under rule 18(i) which is reproduced below”, the order reads.
“Criticism of Government:- Government employee shall, in any radio broadcast or in any document published in his own name or anonymously, pseudonymously or in the name of any other person or in any communication to the press or in any public utterance make any statement of fact or opinion”, it reads.
Which has the effect of an adverse criticism of any current or recent policy or action of the Government of India, Government of Jammu and Kashmir or any other State Government.
“Now, therefore, before initiating disciplinary action against you for your behaviour and conduct in violation of Jammu & Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules of 1971, you are directed to explain your position within 10 days from the date of issuance of this notice, failing which it shall be construed that you have nothing to say in your defence and action as wanted under rules shall be initiated against you without further notice”, the order reads.
