JAMMU: Apni Party today donated water tanks at TRT Nagrota for the migrant community who are facing drinking water crises and poor development.
A meeting was organized at TRT Nagrota and it was chaired by Apni Party leaders, State General Secretary, Abhay Bakaya which was attended by District Vice President Jammu urban, Vaibhav Mattoo, Vivek Saproo, Gl Pandita, Vishal Jyotishi, Chandji Bhat, Chandji Khair social activist, Ashil Koul social activist, K K Moza, Vinod Koul, Tejinder Singh, G l Wali, Vijay Kumar Saproo, Sumita ji, Rani ji, Shusmaji, Laxmi ji, Bhushan Lal Pandita, Bansilal Raina, Janki Nath, Rohit Koul, Pyare Lal and others.
During the meeting, Abhay discussed various issues being faced by the Migrant Community with the poor development and maintenance of the buildings.
He demanded that “There is no proper drinking water supply, worst road conditions, no dispensary, and poor maintenance of buildings in TRT Nagrota.”
He demanded opening of the dining hall, wooden works should be started without delay and the condition of toilets should be improved with proper cleanliness.
He said that “We had promised to donate water tanks and accordingly, they were donated to overcome some shortage of drinking water as the migrants will be able to store drinking water.”
Earlier, he also condemned the Govt for ignoring the TRT Nagrota and the Migrant community people who were not provided better facilities.
“The issues of health, road infrastructure, drinking water, electricity issues, lack of cleanliness, and continuous maintenance issues of the building remain unaddressed even after repeated demands were raised,” he said.
He said that the Govt has appealed number times to improve the livelihood of the Kashmiri Pandit migrants living in TRT Nagrota, but the authorities are busy with the PR exercise.
“It is disappointing that the authorities project demands of the migrants without consulting them. Therefore, the main issues and concerns remain unaddressed and migrants continue to suffer while the Govt at the top level thinks that they have worked for the welfare of the Migrants which is not true when ground reality is compared,” he added.
He however appealed to the authorities to look into the issues very seriously. Otherwise, the migrants will be forced to come on the road, he added.
