Hundreds of vehicles continued to remain stranded on Srinagar-Leh highway as the only road connecting Ladakh region with rest of the state remained closed for the third consecutive day on Thursday.
The highway was closed for the vehicular movement following the landslides at Shaitan Nallah between Sonamarg in central Kashmir to Drass stretch, officials said.
Reports said that a large number of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, remain stranded on the either sides of the highway.
Officials said that the work to clear the road has already been started. “There is possibility that the road will be thrown open for the vehicular movement on Friday,” he said.
