Double-storied house among several properties of JeI seized in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday attached more properties belonging to banned Jamaat-e-Islami at different locations in South Kashmir.

An official said SIA attached the properties in Sirhama, Viddy Srigufwara, Arwani in Anantnag district and in main town Kulgam.

He said the properties include a double-storied house, along with 7 Marla of land, 56 kanal agriculture land, 02 Kanal 7 Marla land, 3 Kanal 4 Marla land and 1.5 Kanal land.

The properties has been seized in connection with an investigation launched by the SIA in connection with a case registered under FIR No 17 of 2019 at Police Station Batamaloo. The SIA has identified as many as 188 JeI properties across the UT which have either been notified or are under the process of being notified for further legal action.

Last month, the SIA had sealed several properties at about a dozen locations worth about Rs 100 crore of the JeI across the Union Territory.
