Ruheena demands compensation for snow affected farmers of Kashmir

Srinagar: Ruheena Shahzad, District President Ganderbal, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society , said that the government should provide compensation to the farmers whose fruit crops were destroyed due to early snowfall.

In a press statement, Ruheena Shahzad urged the official to look into the destruction of crops on the ground.

Advocating for relief to the farmers, Ganderbal, district president of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Welfare Society, also demanded an estimate of the losses. She said the damage to the orchards could be gauged from the fact that heavy hail had been raining on the crop for a long time, destroying apple, cherry and other orchards.

She added that the financial and living conditions of farmers, who are already burdened crop losses and the outbreak of the covid 19 epidemic, are already deteriorating.
