Rs 69,000 crore allocated by NDA govt for Post Matric scholarship of SC students: Ramdas Athawale

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has said that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated 69,000 crore rupees for the Post Matric scholarship of SC students for the next five years.

Addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad, he said that 1 crore 30 lakh SC students will be enrolled for higher education and skill training under this scheme in the next five years. He said, Modi government is planning to give overseas scholarships to 100 SC students every year, whose annual family income is below 8 lakh rupees.

Mr Athvale said that the Modi government is also running various schemes for 2 crore 67 lakh Divyang people including 32 lakh in Gujarat under the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan.
