RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee meeting begins

The meeting of Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has begun its bi-monthly meeting today. It will go on till 7th April. Reserve Bank’s Governor Shaktikanta Das is expected to announce the decisions taken in the meeting on Wednesday.

MPC will review the economic situation in the country and will decide on the interest rates.

In the last meeting, RBI has not changed interest rates and decided to keep an accommodative stance to mitigate the impact of Covid 19 and until growth is revived on a durable basis. At present repo rate is at 4 percent and the reverse repo rate at 3.35 percent.
