Raqeeq Khan for roll back of Agnipath scheme, asks youth for peaceful protests

MENDHAR: Apni Party Vice President of Youth Wing Raqeeq Ahmed Khan today demanded roll back of the Agnipath scheme for recruitment in the Indian Army. In a statement to the press, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan said that the scheme has disappointed the unemployed youth across the country and in J&K in particular who were preparing for long service in the Indian Army.

“The scheme offers short term 4 years service in the Army under Agnipath scheme and it is highly condemnable as it lacks vision of providing employment and psychological stability to the unemployed who want to defend the country’s borders,” he said. He said that the Youth Wing of Apni Party extends full support to the protesting youth and appealed to them that they should not restore to violence.

“These youths should express their resentment in a violent manner as public property is being damaged and common masses are facing problems,” he said. He further appealed to the Govt to roll back the Agnipath scheme in favour of the unemployed youth aspiring to join the Indian Army.
