Ramban third district to complete 100% first dose vaccination in above 18 age group

Anantnag with 94% vaccination leads in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: After Samba and Poonch districts in the Jammu division, Ramban becomes the third district in the erstwhile state to complete 100 per cent first dose vaccination in all above 18 years of age.

An official said all 2,51,180 persons coming under the 18-44 year age category have been given the first dose of vaccine, while 99,746 (46 percent) have been given the second dose of vaccination in the district.

In aggregate form around 90 per cent have been given the first dose while 41 per cent of people in Jammu Kashmir have been given the second dose of Covid vaccination under the 18-44 age category so far. In the Jammu division, five more districts are set to achieve the feat in the next few days where around 90 per cent of people have already been given their first dose of vaccination.

In Kashmir division’s Anantnag district where around 94 per cent of people have been vaccinated is leading, followed by Budgam with 92 per cent and Shopian and Srinagar with 91 per cent.

The vaccination drive in  J&K was started on 16 January this year. Around 12,190,802 doses of vaccine have been administered so far in J&K—(KNO)
