A procession was taken out in Srinagar on the occasion of Ram Navmi. The devotees sought peace, prosperity and religious harmony in the state. The priest urged the J&K Governor to lift the bi-weekly highway ban, as the valley is safe and peaceful.

The procession passed from ISKCON temple and culminated at Hanuman Temple in Srinagar. The devotees chanted ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ and sang devotional songs on their way.

The devotees thanked the Muslim community on the occasion for supporting the religious festival and rally.

The ‘yatra’, with a group of children wearing specially designed attire, passed off peacefully through various localities of the city.

Police and paramilitary personnel were deployed as a precautionary measure.
