Rakesh Takait in Kashmir, says ‘an apple a day keeps doctor away’

Srinagar: Noted Kisan leader Rakesh Takait on Tuesday said that selling apple alone would not double the income of growers.
Assessing fruit growers and sellers in Sopore, Asia’s largest fruit market, Takait said Kashmiri apple is consumed across the country but growers are not reaping as much harvest, in terms of monetary gains.
He advised the Kashmiri apple farmers to go for processing and produce juices for enhancing their incomes. Eulogizing the Kashmiri orchard produce, he said doctors also suggest ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’.
