Rain of greetings on Asad as Srinagar bags eGovernance Gold for Project ‘Gaash’

JAMMU: Greetings poured aplenty on Mohammad Aijaz Asad, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, as the summer capital city bagged the National eGovernance Gold Award for Project ‘Gaash’.

The ‘Gaash’ project is an eLearning initiative of District Administration Srinagar with special emphasis on gamified learning in the age group of 12- 18, resulting into enhanced interest among students and teachers alike, leading to overall improvement in academic performance.

Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has awarded this special initiative with the ‘Gold Award’ under the Category ‘Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance’ of the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2021-2022.

Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha led the greetings as he congratulated Aijaz Asad and his team.

“A well-deserved Gold for Team @ Srinagaradmin in e-Governance. Congratulations and best wishes for outstanding work @asadamaijaz and officials for translating the grand vision of digitally empowered society into reality,” tweeted the Lieutenant Governor.

Hundreds of prominent members of civil society, journalists, educationists, fellow administrative officers, and social activists congratulated Asad on this prestigious recognition.

“Zindabad! @AsadamAijaz sb. Well deserving, bold officer. Serving people with dedication. Congratulations!,” tweeted Zahid Parwaz Choudhary, State President, Gujjar Bakarwal Youth Welfare Conference J&K.

SSP Kupwara, Yougal Kumar Manhas and Mubashir Amin, Assistant Collector, Baramulla were among hundreds of people who showered their praises on Asad for this astounding achievement.

“Heartiest congratulations to @AsadamAijaz sir for this great achievement, as you always set an example of serving people in an accountable and transparent way. Keep winning the hearts of people of city best wishes,” tweeted Choudhary Nawaab Nazir, Chairman, All Tribal Cordination Committee J&K.

Speaking about the project ‘Gaash’, Asad said that the project has been very helpful in making education more effective while being enjoyable through gamification of conceptual content.

The project aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of learning outcomes for all stakeholders in education-schools, parents and students, besides empowering students with cutting-edge edutechnology to help them realise their full potential.

Asad further said that the effort is factored by use of digital technology pursuing next generation reforms and innovations by adopting emerging technologies and use of ICT Management.
Through the project ‘Gaash’, the students were able to understand basic concepts in Science and Mathematics very easily in comparison to normal class room transactions.
