Discusses issues of education sector with Heads of Institutions
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today convened a meeting with heads of institutions to discuss issues of the Education Sector here at DC office complex.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Kathua Uttam Singh, CEO Kathua P.L Thapa, XEN REW, XEN PWD Kathua, XEN SAMAGRA, AEE PWD Basohli, Heads of Educational Institutions and other concerned officers.
At the outset, the DC took appraisal of action taken with regard to issues discussed in earlier meetings viz. physical verification of schools regarding Assured Minimum Facilities, schools without electricity connection, boundary wall, toilet facility, drinking water facility etc.
The DC directed heads of the schools to submit the list of schools without drinking water facility or not having approachable source of drinking water.
While discussing the issue of regularizing the power connections in schools, the DC directed CEO Kathua to apply for electricity connection for left out schools. He further directed the CEO to submit a list of schools without boundary walls so that proper estimates from PWD shall be worked out.
Underscoring the importance of quality assets, the DC directed principals of schools to personally monitor the progress of all works being executed in their institutions.
The DC also called for maintaining the standards of educational deliverables besides ensuring availability of other amenities in schools.
