Jammu: Polytechnic students have demanded postponement of their examinations.
To highlight their demand students held a protest in support of their demands.
The student said, “As per routine academic session use to start in June or July every year, but due to Corona the session was postponed to November/December. While all other the educational institutes are taking online examination for the welfare and safety of the students. Our department is still postponing our exams ahead i.e we have give examination for two to three semesters simultaneously. What does the authorities want to prove by putting such a burden on students. We just want our basic right as we do expected this by the country of democracy”.
Another student said, many of us belong to places outside Jammu city and all of us are not privileged enough to travel regularly to college. We are highlighting our concern time and again. The administration should understand everyone’s financial conditions and follow the rules and regulations. We must get mass promotion or the option of online examination”
The students have rued the slow speed of internet on the mobile phones.
“At a slow speed of 2g internet it’s very difficult to pass notes to friends and secondly some if the areas don’t even get proper network. How will we study?
