Police prevent minor girl from committing suicide in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, June 26: The Jammu and Kashmir police prevented a minor girl from committing suicide in Shalhar Dab area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

An official told that the police last evening prevented the minor from committing suicide after she was found attempting into river Jhelum near Shalhar Dab village.

He said that after noticing her movement as doubtful, duty officer Shadipora rushed towards her and foiled her suicidal attempt.
“The Girl (name withheld), resident of Magam locality of Budgam was pacified and after proper counseling was handed over to her parents,” he said—(KNO)
