BARAMULLA: Jammu and Kashmir Police said to have detained a man with as many as 380 fake gold biscuits weighing 380 grams during naka checking at Khanpora Bridge in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement to The Dispatch, Police said that under the supervision of Altaf Ahmad-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Inspr Vilayat Ahmad, SHO PS Baramulla arrested an individual namely Javid Ahmad Dar S/O Ab Rahim Dar R/O Khanpora Baramulla during naka checking at Khanpora Bridge.

The accused as per the police was coming from market Baramulla towards Khanpora and upon seeing the naka party he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert naka party.

During his personal search, 380 fake Gold Biscuits weighing 380 grams were recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately.  A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations were set in motion, police said.
