Police arrest most wanted drug peddler in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 2: Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday arrested a most wanted drug peddler and recovered banned drugs and cash over Rs 70000 in Srinagar, a police spokesman said this afternoon.

He said police on a tip off arrested a most wanted drug peddler identified as Nawaz Ahmad Sheikh alias Paata, resident of Mohammad Akram Sheikh, resident of Doodgangah Nallah Balgarden, Srinagar. He said Alprazolam 2550 Tablets (Banned Drug) and cash of Rs 70,650 from his possession.

In this regard case FIR no. 135/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Shaheed Gunj and investigation set into motion.

Public has hailed the police action against the drug peddlers in the area, he said.
